Light bulbs

This is some light bulbs that I draw with charcoal. It’s a pretty good example of chiaroscuro. First I started to sketch everything with vine charcoal. Then for blending, and detail I used compressed charcoal.

Random Objects

This is a pastel drawing of some random objects. It was fun to do, because I love pastels. When I start to draw with pastels I always pick a light color to start sketching with. Once I am done with sketching I start to block in large areas of color looking for shapes. After that I begin to blend the colors together. I use blending stubs, soft tissue, and a shammy for blending. I don’t use my fingers because the oils from my skin makes it look to greasy and smudgy.

The hardest thing about making this drawing was the reflections, and transparency. Doing those tiny details is tough because the pastel has a rectangular shape, and it’s not a pencil. I also had to be careful not to smear anything by accident with my arm, and palm. Because pastels smear easily. I should also think about spraying a fixative on it, so it does not get damaged if someone touches it. So I hope people enjoy this pastel drawing, because I had a blast making it.

Monster

This is a strange monster that I created. I wanted it to be bright, and colorful. I love having bright colors in my artwork. He has colored outlines instead of my usual black outlines. Lots of white menacing teeth which are very sharp. Spiky hair on his back, and head. I gave him hoofs, and horse like legs so he can run fast. Later I am going to model him in a 3D app. So I can animate him.

Concept Car

This digital illustration is a car that I designed. I wanted something smooth, and futuristic looking. To me it kind of looks like a shark, but maybe that’s just me.

Stiller

This is a parody of Ben Stiller’s Tropic Thunder.

Fairy

It’s a guy staring at a tiny fairy in the bushes. The guy looking through the bush is supposed to be amazed. So I put his eyes wide open. I was going for something very colorful. I put a lot of green, and brown with a little bit of yellow. There's lots of detail in it. I gave this illustration some thick outlines, and made everything very smooth. The fairy’s wings are soft, and fuzzy looking. She also has some green hair that spikes up a little bit.
